I am very excited to introduce myself as the new Teaching Professional here at FireRock Country Club. Golf has been a passion of mine for the last thirty years and as a Professional I have had some incredible experiences. I played professional golf in Europe, South Africa, South America and North America, caddied for Gary McCord on the PGA Tour, and worked for and studied under the best teachers the game has to offer such as: Jim Flick, Mac O’Grady, Paul Runyan, Butch Harmon, David Leadbetter and Peter Kostis. In 1994, I moved from the Palm Springs area to Scottsdale to open the Kostis/McCord Learning Center at Grayhawk. Working with Peter Kostis and Gary McCord was a great learning experience for me since both have been around the game for such a long time. In 1995, Warner Bros. hired me as a Teaching Professional in the movie TIN CUP. My main responsibilities were teaching actor Kevin Costner how to swing, look, and act like a Professional Golfer, consultant to the Director, I played the role of Peter Jacobson’s caddie and hit golf shots in the movie. All these great experiences have given me a unique perspective in applying my skills as a Teaching Professional, whether teaching a high handicap or a club champion. The last few years have been very busy for me teaching golf, performing corporate outings and most importantly raising my two beautiful daughters that I am so proud of, Sela eleven years old and Ysa six years old. Sela plays soccer and Ysa is active in both soccer and dance.
